500 kg of dog food for Dog Help Kharkiv

Volara paid the shelter's food supplier directly: a van load of new dry food, plus part of a bill for food delivered on credit while funding was short.

Dog Help Kharkiv buys its dry food from a small producer in Kharkiv. In June the team drove the shelter van to the supplier and collected 500 kg in one trip: 50 bags of 10 kg, which went straight back to the kennels.

Volara paid the supplier directly, ₴45,000 (€868.13) in total. ₴24,300 of that was the new food, at ₴48.60 a kilo.

The other ₴20,700 went towards a bill for food the supplier had already delivered on credit. That bill built up while the shelter's previous funding dried up, and the supplier kept delivering anyway. After this payment, ₴24,135 of it was still owed.

    Dog Help Kharkiv is an animal rescue organisation based in Kharkiv, Ukraine, dedicated to saving and rehabilitating animals affected by the war. Operating in Kharkiv region, Dog Help Kharkiv specializes in evacuating dogs from high-risk areas, providing them with shelter, medical care, and ultimately finding them new homes. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the organisation has completed the end-to-end rescue process for many dogs — evacuating them, providing shelter and veterinary treatment, and facilitating their adoption into loving families. Its shelter in Kharkiv is focused on re-homing rapidly to allow for saving more lives.
