The plan for September was 600 kg of Brit for about ₴54,600. While the money was being raised, Pavel says Brit's price went up by more than ₴400 a bag, so he went to a Josera distributor in Kharkiv instead.
The distributor sells YoziDog Economy, a complete food for adult dogs, as a 15 kg bag with 3 kg extra, so 18 kg, at ₴1,230 a bag. Volara paid the distributor directly for 44 bags, 792 kg: ₴54,120 (€1,053.59). That is about the same money as the Brit plan, for roughly a third more food.
The food was collected on 23 September, a rainy day. The shelter's usual driver couldn't make the run, so Pavel drove the van to the warehouse and loaded it himself. Once the 44 bags were in, the distributor added 6 bags, 108 kg, free of charge, which brought the load to about 900 kg. Our thanks to the distributor for the extra bags.
